The Web Installer<\/strong> is the easiest way to install Nextcloud on a web space. It checks the dependencies, downloads Nextcloud from the official server, unpacks it with the right permissions and the right user account. Finally, you will be redirected to the Nextcloud installer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Right-click here<\/a> and save the file to your computer<\/li>
  2. Upload setup-nextcloud.php to your web space<\/li>
  3. Point your web browser to …\/setup-nextcloud.php<\/strong> on your webspace<\/li>
  4. Follow the instructions and configure Nextcloud<\/li>
  5. Login to your newly created Nextcloud instance!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Note<\/strong> that the installer uses the same Nextcloud version as available for the built in updater in Nextcloud. After a major release it can take up to a month before it becomes available through the web installer and the updater. This is done to spread the deployment of new major releases out over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I\u2019m running a Nextcloud 19.0.4 installation on Ubuntu 18.04 with Aparch2. Can someone tell me why I don\u2019t see an update to version 20 on the overview page? Is it only available for Enterprise version?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      This is because the upgrade is distributed in waves to all installations. If you want to force upgrading your installation switch the installation channel temporarily to \u201cBeta\u201d and let it search for updates. After installing version 20 don\u2019t forget to switch back the channel to \u201cStable\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
